I am a huge Universal Audio advocate! They just released the Luna Recording System DAW for free to all Apollo Series Owners and it is AMAZING! I made a video of some of the things I was most excited about.
Universal Audio is incredible for multiple reasons. Bill Putnam founded the company and was one of the few pioneers of the recording industry. You can credit Bill for things like the LA2A, 1176, the modern vocal booth and the recording console. He passed the company to his Son Bill Putnam Jr. and he has done a great job at both maintaining the quality in the analog gear but also in bringing Universal Audio to the masses with the Apollo Series interfaces and now the Luna Recording System.
